Can anyone recommend a good source (or sources) for quotations? I’m aware of Bartlett’s and several on the Internet, but I would like to find a source/sources that’s fairly large and comprehensive - those that include less well known and obscure quotes, for example. ---

The 1919 edition of Bartlett’s **Familiar Quotations** and the 1988 edition of **Simpson’s Contemporary Quotations** are both online and both searchable. See [http://www.bartleby.com/index.html](http://www.bartleby.com/index.html) I have had good luck using text searches with search engines to track down the source of quotations that I know the exact wording of (at least in part).
