The reason it’s so popular is that he protests waaay too much. Instead of ignoring gay rumors he takes everyone to court.
The only disappointing one I saw was Jason Lee. I thought he would be too smart and take too much of a ribbing from Kevin Smith.

Battlefield Earth was based on the book of the same name, not Dianetics, which is The Book of Scientology. I can’t tell if you’re joking or not, so I thought a correction was in order.

He was just in it because he’s a famous Scientologist; I’ve never heard any gay rumors about Travolta.
You may not have heard them, but the rumors about Travolta go back years. It was definitely about the gay for him as well.
Absolutely not saying that he is or he isn’t. Not that there’s anything wrong with it if he is. Just saying, the rumors are out there.

They didn’t go easy on them… At least in the Mormon episodes, while they talked about their religion, in the end they depicted the faithful as decent, family-oriented people.

Pretty much. After all, what actor HASN’T been accused of being gay-that happens to everyone. Instead of just shrugging it off, he freaks out and starts sueing.
I don’t know if he’s gay, but he’s way too high strung and humorless.
I’ve heard it said that they blackmail people, and with image-conscious celebrities, it could be a natural combination.
