Maybe it was end of the semester sleep deprivation, That Time of the Month, and the fact that I’ve grown to hate Xmas, but this show actually did inspire some real emotion in me. When Stan killed the mountain lion, I felt really bad, and the baby cubs! It was like _Bambi_ all over again. I watched in rapt fascination/horror at Santa blowing all those cute, evil animals away, in horrified hilarity at the entire abortion subplot, and was totally relieved that the story was just a Cartman fabrication and that Mama Mountain Lion lived. I know, how pathetic of me, but I was like 😃 :eek: ☹ :mad: :dubious: :eek: :smack: :o :eek: 😃 though the whole thing. My face sure got a workout. I laughed, I cried, it became a part of me. As my students say, it was totally off the hook. I second the poster who said Best. Xmas. Special. Ever. ---

You can find it most easily as websites hosting episodes of Southpark aren’t shut down or hit with lawsuits. ---

I don’t make it a habit to cry during _South Park_, but man…when Stan killed the mama mountain lion and those little cubs’ eyes appeared at the cave entrance…I lost it. I’m not good with anything involving cats getting hurt, even when they’re fake computer-generated cats. ☹ I loved the ep (didn’t bat an eye when Santa blew away the Satan Critters–in fact I was rooting for him!) but I wasn’t able to fully admit it until Mama Mountain Lion was back safe and sound. I did suspect she would be, though, when I saw her all laid out on the rock with the flowers. I was getting serious Aslan vibes. Excellent episode! I will be taping it this weekend. 🙂 ---

Just one minor nitpick. The Immaculate Conception, in Catholic theology, refers not to Jesus’ conception but to the conception of Mary, the mother of Jesus. In Catholic theology, everyone is born with original sin. The two exceptions are Mary and Jesus. Mary’s conception was immaculate in that she was not conveived in original sin: Mary was born sinless, and so could become the mother of God… The virgin birth: Jesus. The immaculate conception: Mary. You know **WeRSauron** , in all my years of Catholic school, I’ve never heard that version of the Immaculate Conception. But back to the episode. Appalling, yet compelling. ---

WeRSauron is correct, there really is no controversy. Yes, Jesus is Virgin-Born & Immaculately Conceived (w/o Original Sin)- no argument there. Catholics, Orthodox & Protties all agree. The Catholic doctrine of the IC however, as decreed by the Pope in the latter 1800s, is that Mary, by the Grace of God through Christ, was conceived naturally but without inheriting Original Sin, hence immaculately. ---

The definition of the Immaculate Conception is one that LOTS of people get wrong, most think it was conception of Christ (as I did too at one point). This was one of the few things I knew that Ben Stein didn’t on “Win Ben Stein’s Money”. And he couldn’t believe he was wrong! (Not that I was a contestant, I’m just talking about watching it on the tube) ---
