Wow. It looks like a university residence, with overtones of space station. It must have cost a lot of money to build it there.

I saw a video of this South Pole station a few months ago and was struck by how nice its accommodations were, nicer than my college dorm in New York back in the day 😉

I remember footage from inside McMurdo station on the old series 3-2-1 Contact. Maybe it is somewhere in the two [episodes on Youtube](https://youtube.com/watch?v=uLiUJcTYmnc).

I assume the pay rate is above what is normal for a similar job in the US?
