I live in Maryland. I am not Southern. I can’t even make decent biscuits without a recipe from my (very) Southern Aunt-in-law. [QUOTE=WVmom] Born and raised in West (by God!) Born and raised in Chicago. Been in Maryland for 11 years now, the past 8 of them within spitting distance of DC, a place John F Kennedy once described as being “…a city of Southern efficiency and Northern charm.” My wife is from Mississippi. _Thats_ the south; I’m not so sure about this. ---

[/QUOTE] Maryland and Delaware had slavery, and I don’t consider them to be Southern. The 1st Arkansas Cavalry (CSA) fought the 1st Arkansas Cavalry (USA) in Fayettville, AR in, I believe 1862. Does that make us only part Southern? 🙂 ---

I was born and now live in Oklahoma. But, only the southeastern half of Oklahoma is really the south in culture. The northwestern half (where I live) is great plains in culture. ---
