All right now, Southern _brethren and sistren_, we have got to get serious about this business of “stand up and be counted.” If you haven’t taken the time to investigate [Non-USA Dopers: Stand and be counted. Please.](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=381975), which I started last Monday at about this time of day, and which as grown to (last count) 215 posts over 5 pages, and counting, I encourage you to do so – especially posts #204-208 on Page 5. At least check out the posts in that thread by **Antonius Block** , who at my request has taken over management of the impressive database of non-USA Dopers and who has invented a utility for capturing the key data on those folks and incorporated his findings into that file. At his last count (post #211) there are 244 Dopers being counted there. I admitted to **Antonius Block** , as I am admitting to you, that I don’t have the technical skills nor the software on my computer to do what he has done to make that list as impressive as he has. So I must rely on your help to get our Southern USA Dopers list up to that same level. =============================================== How you can help: Capture (copy/paste) from as recent a post as you can find for that Doper: Member Name Member Status Join Date Number of Posts Location and modify (if needed) the Location to refer to the actual state (must be Southern USA as defined in the OP of this thread). ============================================== Example: (copy/paste from post in above-mentioned thread): Yesterday, 11:31 AM #202 (this data is optional, but will help indicate how recent the data may be) Zeldar Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Posts: 4,575 Location: Tennessee =============================================== If you prefer to stick to your own state, or to limit your efforts to just those Dopers you know for sure where they live, that will be preferable to guesses or doubts. There are also a few others from The South I’m close enough to sure about to capture their data, too. My summary file has, at present, 85 unique names.
