Fried chicken hearts rutabagas pole beans watermelon-rind pickles and if you’re making another pone of conrnbread, could you toss some of those pork cracklins in? ---

**Liberal** , this is one fine thread and I don’t want to hijack it or even start up another that references it as a starting point, but I see so many “additional items” beyond your original menu that I would love to see another thread devoted to “unusual” items seen on a Meat And Three list. Places like Cracker Barrel always have some oddities, but those unique Greasy Spoons and Gag’n’Puke places often have things that no other joint would even consider serving, some of which are out of this world. None are hopping to mind at the moment, but I bet they would if a thread asked for them. Again, I love this thread! ---

Oh sure, there are lots of great foods not listed in the OP. Think of it as the daily specials! 😃 Feel free to order what you like. If we don’t have it, we’ll cook it! I won’t get involved in the Country Fried vs Chicken Fried controversy. We’re laid back here. Our staff will understand you either way you put it. I got a hankerin’ to go down to the local meat ‘n three now. I even brought lunch with me to work, but dangit! **Liberal** done got me wantin’ some **real** food! ---

There’s a little hole in the wall place down the road a piece from me called “Southern Recipe” which has meat ‘n three. Originally the resturant looks like it was a Hardees. They have the patio and a drive-thru window they don’t use. They have a very large variety of meats and sides, mayhaps I’ll nip on down there for lunch and pick up one of their menus and transcribe it. Seein’ as how I’m in Texas they’ve got a good amount of Tex-Mex on the menu. A chicken chimichanga with pinto beans 'n pork, glazed baby carrots, Spanish rice, with a cup of broccoli cheese soup, chased with apple cobbler and sweet tea. Sounds good to me. Enjoy, Steven ---

Round two: Chicken-Fried Steak Speckled Butterbeans (someone here referred to them as “butterpeas”… never heard that before… also I think you might have meant “crowder” peas rather than “chowder” peas…I loves me some field peas, too…and purplehull peas are just a type of blackeyed pea, I think…anyway…) Fried Okra Collards (with Trappey’s Pepper Sauce, or homemade) Cornbread ( a small skillet will do) Lemon Meringue Pie Tea ---
