The “freedom” to pull a gun on a police officer at a traffic stop. Why that “freedom” is right here on page 3 of my pocket constertushun!
Why even stop? I wouldn’t pull over just because some Random Guy told me to, and this SovCit guy believes that cops are just random dudes with no legal authority. So why even pull over?
Well, the obvious answer is, if you don’t pull over, the cops will chase you down and run you off the road, or deploy spike strips to flatten you tires.
So, he acknowledges the cops physical power by pulling over.
But then he pulls a gun on them!
Why acknowledge the cops physical power to pull you over, but not their physical power to drag you out of the car, beat you, or shoot you?!?
It boggles the mind.
Because he was looking for a confrontation.
Yup. What’s the point of knowing the SovCit magic words if you can’t use 'em?
Right. And that’s the whole point of displaying that stupid sovcit vehicle plate. It’s a guaranteed way to get the police to stop the nutter.
The SovCits have converged with the Nationalist-Supremacists in seeing any LEO who seeks to enforce the real laws as a minion of tyranny, and needing confronting.
Because a few decades of popular media have convinced some people that guns have magic power. When a hero points a gun at somebody, all their problems are successfully resolved.
As happened in this case.
On some level I think a lot of them really think their magic words will work. Many of them have paid to learn this stuff, after all. What’s the point in learning the incantations if you don’t use them? I genuinely believe many of them think they can talk their way out of the legal repercussions.
And it enrages them when their magic words are ignored.
And part of that… stuff is that these kind of encounters are the grounds for civil lawsuits that will result in the SovCit getting lots of ‘gold coins’ deposited to their ‘strawman account’.
I don’t think this was the successful resolution Allan was seeking.
The lesson here is that if you’re a fuck-up, getting a gun isn’t going to fix your problems. A gun isn’t going to make you competent. A gun is just going to make it possible for you to fuck things up in a more serious way.
And there probably have been lots of times where the words “worked,” in that they walked away free after using the words on a police officer, just like how most illnesses will be “cured” by some homeopathic potion.
I call this into question. If there were lots of times this approach worked, there would be lots of videos all over the place showing it, not just anonymous stories told by aspiring profiteers.
Pull a gun on a cop and you have a very good chance of never having a problem again.
But then they wake up.
If the cop chooses not to write it up or tow their car (sorry vee-HICKLE) or the DA decides to drop the charges or the judge lets them off, we all know they got away with it for some stupid-ass reason but THEY believe they got off because their magic words worked. That’s why cops, DA and judges should not give them a break.
