The Queen of Canada finds a new home. Not all her subjects are pleased.
@Gorsnak must be alerted to this invasion. Although since he’s not been online here this afternoon, perhaps he’s out there manning the ramparts right now.
Yeah, and AFAIK she’s never been naturalized Canadian so she has even less coherence than your run-of-the-mill sovcit loon.
Half day’s drive away. @Spoons is closer, let him deal with it.
Didn’t you used to live in Saskatoon? I was recalling a convo we had about that a long time ago.
Hm. Looking at a map, it’s most likely four hours away from me. Still, a long day if I do the return.
Saskatoon is correct. This Richmound is in the very southwest corner of Saskatchewan, and closer to Lethbridge, AB than it is to Saskatoon.
A little bit south of Saskatoon?
OK, looked at the map, closest thing to it whose name I am familiar with is Medicine Hat. So quite out there.
So is the Queen. It all fits. ![]()
Ah, thank you. I’d not mapped it and had assumed the town was one of the satellites not too far from Saskatoon. Oops.
One thing that part of the world has is lots and lots of open space and distance. Plus a wacko or two. Oh well, can’t have everything be good.
I’ve always wondered what would happen if the presiding judge turned the Sovereign Citizen over to Immigration after they claimed that they were not a US citizen… has any judge ever said “ok you’re not a citizen of this country, let’s just get you sorted out with immigration… bailiffs will please notify ICE that we have an illegal alien for them”
Tempting - see post 128. But in practical terms, in the real world, it just isn’t done.
It would be neat if the government could revoke birthright citizenship for these wackos. If they say and demonstrate they don’t want it: Riiiip!!!.
But the way our country is in danger of going, I know that would not be used on SovCits, but rather on ordinary people who voted for the “wrong”, which is to say un-RIGHT, party just before the takever.
Well, before Ronnie the savior came along, they did at least used to hospitalize a lot of the crazy instead of let them run around all over the place.
I’d settle for that.
What’s fascinating about Ramona Didulo isn’t that she’s a nut who says she’s Queen of Canada. Nuts have been saying crazy stuff forever. What’s fascinating is that she has followers.
Nuts attract nuts. Leader-nuts attract follower-nuts.
And in the past, there was only one nut per town. You’d have to subscribe to their mimeographed newsletter to see all the nuttiness.
Now, social media has given these individual nuts the power to coalesce into one large nutball of crazy.
Plus, she really came into her own during the pandemic. Like 9/11 before it, I honestly think the stresses of the pandemic legitimately drove a lot of people nuts. The combination of some people finding the nuts politically valuable, and our society’s normally shitty response to mental issues exacerbated everything, and this is one result.
Yep. Heck even when there was more than one nut they’d stand at opposite corners of the park so you could only listen to one at a time. Or their relatives would tell them to stop embarassing them and go back to work.
All the while each of them believing that the profusion of nuts means nuttery IS the right approach or else they would not be so many.
Reminds me of Emperor Norton I of San Francisco. But he was actually a decent fellow for the most part and his ‘followers’ were mostly humoring him.
