I’ve wondered why this lawyer would do this, as it was clear from the outset that the bullshit she was peddling would clearly lead to bad consequences for her.
From the article, it appears that she had a mental breakdown during covid and turned to one of these scammers who prey on people with their soverign citizen “courses” I imagine she paid them good money to fill her head with crap.
She’s been suspended, and will soon lose her ability to practice law; a clear and obvious consequence of her actions. It’s sad. In a previous time, she would not have had such easy access to the scammers, and would possibly have gotten help from her community to get through whatever rough mental patch she was going through. The sovereign citizen “give us your money” scum are responsible for a lot of agony.
I see the judge in this case used the Meads decision. Judge Meads should be proud of the help he’s given to the legal community.
