Sovereign Citizens-- Please tell me this is fake

He’s probably going to come to the conclusion he’s being mistreated because, well, who knows what convoluted path a throught must take through such a person’s mind? It reminds me of one video I saw where a judge told a sovcit loon that if she truly believed the court had no jurisdiction over her, she would not even appear in court. These loons are not familiar with logical conclusions.

… BECAUSE he knows too much …

and the powers to be don’t like people who know too much

Call me hard hearted but my favorite sovcit videos are the ones in which they get tased, falling to the ground and squealing like a pig while flopping like a fish. Ya want to see what power we have over you, well, there you go.

I’m with you on that. The only issue I have is I wish the device were called agonizer as it was in the original Star Trek episode Mirror, Mirror. AFAIK, that was the first appearance in any media of such a device.

Actually, I have another issue. Those sovcits might seem amusing, but they’re deadly. Nobody can tell what kind of sovcit kook one’s dealing with until the end of the encounter.

“How do you like it when your nuts create joinder with 50,000 volts of electricity there Mr. Amateur Lawyer?”

@CalMeacham probably has a definitive history of “police-carried nonlethat pain-inducing devices” in science fiction, but the taser always reminded me of Isaac Asimov’s neuronic whip from either the Galactic Empire books or the Foundation trilogy (I forget which). Both would have preceded Star Trek TOS by at least a decade.

We should start on entries for SovCit quote bingo cards.

“I’m not resisting” while actively resisting.
“I didn’t do anything” That’s right. You didn’t show a driver’s license. You didn’t show registration or insurance. You didn’t follow lawful orders.
“I’m not driving, I’m traveling” So you’re in the process of crossing state lines?
“I’m not engaged in commerce” There are a couple of laws under the USC for which this is a valid defense. None of which is a SovCit is cited for.

“I didn’t form a contract with you” - No one asked you to, dumbass.
“That flag has a yellow fringe on it, so this is an admiralty court” - No, it isn’t; the fringe is purely decorative, dumbass.
“I don’t recognize your authority over me” - Recognize it or not, I have a badge, and a gun, and a jail cell to take you to if you don’t cooperate, dumbass.

Real question: is the entire American flag in a courtroom ever not decorative? That is, is there some statutory basis that requires a room to have a flag in order to hold court therein?

SHHHHH! They’ll hear you.

I read in the USC that an Admiralty Court requires gold fringe but for the life of me I can not find it again. Of course SovCits and their impeccable logic assume the converse as true.

Yes, there are statutes related to it. Here is a rule requiring both the state flag and US flag to be present in courts in Michigan:

https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/MICOURTS/bulletins/2922e90

A court rule requires flags of the United States and the State of Michigan to be displayed near the bench whenever court is in session. This includes times when a court meets in another location, such as an auditorium, for educational or physical distancing purposes.

Flags call attention to the importance of what is happening. They also remind a judge of the promise to support the Constitution of the United States and the constitution of this state made when taking the oath of office.

My own state has a similar requirement.

https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=1.20.015

The flag of the United States and the flag of the state shall be prominently installed, displayed and maintained in schools, court rooms and state buildings.

I am a state employee, I work in state offices, and we always have flags. It’s a requirement.

I have no idea what the consequences are for violating those rules, I doubt it’s anything serious, but the rules exist nonetheless. And they’re law, that’s what the RCW is (Revised Code of Washington).

The ghost of Dixy Lee Ray haunts you.

That shit is terrifying.

(checks again to make sure it’s a Pit thread)

It could be faaaaaaaar worse, violating it could cause a former US President to dry hump you in place of his prefered humping flag.

-flees-

Hmm, perhaps the supreme court should take note of this.

Cold comfort, but their remit is to interpret the constitution, rather than to support it.

The loons obviously never grasp the concept of synonym: “That’s a statute, not a law!”

There were also the Centauri pain-givers in Babylon 5.

Citizen G’Kar: That hurt.

Na’Toth: Ambassador, it was the only way to disable the pain-givers. I had to hit them as hard as possible, as often as possible and still make it appear as though I were beating you into another incarnation.

Citizen G’Kar: And you didn’t enjoy it in the least.

Na’Toth: I didn’t say that.

Who knew that Florida was a hotbed of SC nonsense? Well, it kind of goes with the whole Florida Man/Woman stereotype.

Sovereign Citizen Arrested For Fake Diplomatic Plates Claims Diplomatic Immunity And Gets Stopped Again
A Florida woman who advocates for not paying taxes insists that her cars are diplomatic vehicles.

And arrested. And another associated guy gets the same treatment. I don’t envy the local police; reports that the vehicles had weapons in them.

From in the comments: "Wait, the cops couldn’t verify the authenticity of the license plate even with this little text on it “Notice of fee schedule you agree to pay $10,000.00 for each minute delays or detained from a non-emergency traffic stop”?

Seriously? They thought this might have been legit?"
