# Spaces after quotes?

I’m just trying to figure out where to start typing after a quote, as I seem to get a lot of blank space in my posts. Here are some test lines:

Typing on the same line as the [/quote]

> [@](#):
>

Typing the line directly below the [/quote]

> [@](#):
>

Leaving one-line gap after the [/quote]

How strange. When I previewed, the first and second examples were the same (one blank line). In posting, an extra blank line was added to the second and third examples.

What’s going on? Or is it just my machine?

No, it’s not just your machine–very occasionally the paragraph breaks and carriage returns show up a trifle oddly in Preview.
