I have always wanted to do a Spanish immersion program. I have always wanted to go to Costa Rica. I have two weeks of vacation that I must take in the next four months.

Have any of you out there done one of these programs? Do you have any recommendations for me? Is it a worthwhile thing to do for two weeks?

There seems to be a couple of dozen of these programs that I’ve found from searching the web. In some of them you are supposed to board with a family but I’d rather live in a nice hotel.

Thanks,
Haj

I haven’t done it in Costa Rica, but I did it in Spain (a four-week course). Haj, you _really_ should live with a family. That’s where you’ll really get in your practice of the language. Two weeks isn’t nearly enough time to really learn anything if you aren’t _completely_ immersing yourself in it and you won’t be if you’re living on your own.

I recommend [Amerispan](http://www.amerispan.com/), a program that has Spanish language schools in Mexico and other Latin American countries, including several in Costa Rica. You can live with a family (they arrange this) and there is a small student/teacher ratio. Buena suerte!
