# Spanish Translation, Please?

What is [this guy](https://youtu.be/nClokELAUuM?t=198) singing?

To my untrained ears, it sounds a lot like San Diego Spanglish and not actual Spanish, but what do I know?

FWIW, I pick up a few Spanish 101 words, like _bailar_ (dance), _cantar_ (sing), and at last one Spanish 201 phrase: _Dios Poderoso_ (mighty God).

The official lyrics don’t include any Spanish. The bits he adds have some fragments which are actual Spanish sentences; other parts aren’t sentences so much as bunches of words strung together; yet others… yea, “San Diego Spanish” seems a perfectly fine description, the words are Spanish but the grammar is alien. And he doesn’t say _Dios Poderoso_ but _el Todopoderoso_ (the Almighty).

The longest actual sentence I can hear has some incomprehensible bits (dude, don’t bite the mike), it’s at the beginning: here we are to sing a [song?] so we can dance, we are all together without using skype to connect

The rest is bits and pieces AFAICT.

Thanks for trying, **Nava**.

I think he was probably attempting to do to Spanish (er, San Diego Spanglish) what Rastas do to English – weird grammar and sentence structure for the purpose of… well, I don’t know what, but undoubtedly it’s something profound.
