Come with me
And you’ll be
In a world of pure imagination
Take a look
And you’ll see
Into your imagination
Let us be together
Let’s pretend that we are free
Let’s all be where the angels find us
We all have the key
Shall we seal the truth of life
Shall we light the heavens
We’re so good at finding pleasure
As to what we are and how we fit together
Come along with me
Down into the world of seeing
Come and you’ll be free
Take the time to find the feeling
See everything on it’s own
And you’ll find you know the way
And you’ll know the things you’re shown
Owe everything to the day
And even as I wander
I’m keeping you in sight
You’re a candle in the window
On a cold, dark winter’s night
And I’m getting closer than I ever thought I might
And I can’t fight this feeling anymore
I’ve forgotten what I started fighting for
It’s time to bring this ship into the shore
And throw away the oars, forever
I took myself a blue canoe
And I floated like a leaf
Dazzling, dancing
Half enchanted
In my Merlin sleep
Crazy was the feeling
Restless were my eyes
Insane they took the paddles
My arms they paralysed
Picture yourself in a boat on a river
Cruising down the river,
On a Sunday afternoon
With one you love, the sun above
Waiting for the moon.
I recall the tune that I sang to the moon and it seemed to make it smile
And I rode away at the close of day and I stayed so long awhile
But I long to be where the memory is ringing
One more ride
Once upon a night we’ll wake to the carnival of life
The beauty of this ride ahead such an incredible high
It’s hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead
This moment the dawn of humanity
The last ride of the day
Take this daring leap
Wake, you’ve been asleep
Go attack your life
The paint is peeling
Scrape to save what’s yours
Now when the paint was dry
And the die was cast,
It was clear at last
It was all a lie.
Red never left his hand,
And the blue was wrong
With the green too strong,
Never what he planned.
Now in a rumpled bed
With a night to kill,
He’ll be painting still,
If he isn’t dead.
Now he can only stare
As the old dream falls
At the mocking walls,
And the walls are bare.
The grand old painter died last night
His paintings on the wall
Before he went he bade us well
And said goodnight to us all.
Meet James Ensor
Belgium’s famous painter
Dig him up and shake his hand
Appreciate the man
I keep your picture
Upon the wall
It hides a nasty stain that’s lying there
So don’t you ask me
To give it back
There’s a girl in my room and her face on the wall with no eyes.
There’s a girl in my room and her face on the wall with no eyes.
Girl with no eyes, who can she be?
The girl with no eyes, she’s looking at me.
There’s a girl in my room and her face on the wall with no eyes.
Eyes without a face (les yeux sans visage)
Eyes without a face, got no human grace your eyes without a face
I look around for the friends that I used to turn to to pull me through
Looking into their eyes I see them running too
Run Joey , Joey run run the hounds are on your trail
Jump-up Jump-up
Run Joey , Joey run run they’re gonna send you back to jail
Hey Joe, where you goin’ with that gun in your hand?
Hey Joe, I said where you goin’ with that gun in your hand?
I’m goin’ down to shoot my old lady
You know I caught her messin’ 'round with another man
Miss Otis regrets she’s unable to lunch today, madam.
