Ok. I have way too much hair. We all agree on this. It is too curly but not curly enough, so I try to tame it with a curling iron.

I bought a curling iron/styler from the local Wal-Mart in March or April of 1997. I _loved_ it. It has a regular tong curling iron, two curling brush attachments, a styling brush and a volumizer attachments. This is a hot-air curling iron, the only kind that sets curls that hold all day into my stubborn hair.

In mid-May, I moved. I misplaced the bottom part of it, the part that plugs in and powers the whole thing. I thought it was misplaced, but seven weeks later I have been unable to locate it. I’ve called my mom in Yellowknife, Dad in Edmonton, Sister in Red Deer, friend in Calgary, all the places I visited on the way down to Canmore. Nobody has seen it.

Fine, thought I. I’ll just go buy a new one. The only problem with this plan is that _they don’t make them anymore_. Sad me!!! My hair has looked like crap from using another curling iron, so I’ve abandoned the idea altogether.

I e-mailed Philips Canada last night at about 8 o’clock, asking if there is one in stock. I had a reply within 10 minutes telling me that I would have a reply from the correct department within 24 hours.

This morning I checked my email, and lo and behold there is a response. Philips Canada has _already_ shipped a replacement to me, at their compliments.

Speedy service and free stuff! This thing cost me about forty-five dollars when I bought it four and a half years ago, so I’m pretty damned impressed. Yay Philips! Everyone buy Philips brand appliances and beauty care accessories!
