Spicy food + cats?

Yeah that was going to be my reply as well.

My dog will not eat spicy mustard so count me as one of the “does register” crowd.

You know it really makes you think. Dogs, or my dog at least, will eat her own shit but not mustard. To quote the internet, “WTF mate”

Is that anything like a salty dog? Maybe instead of grapefruit juice it uses bean paste  Ack, sorry for the hijack!

I have been crying for the past 30 minutes over this, I gave my cat a couple pieces of small chicken that was very very very lightly seasoned with cayenne pepper and realized after that I actually seasoned it. My whole family ate the chicken dish and nobody said it was spicy because it wasn’t, jalepenos are more spicy, so it isnt burn our mouths at all and my cat seems to not give a care in the world. By the looks of it, it doesnt have a long tern health effect on the cat, just gives them gas and diarrhea? I am so worried about my cat. He is my son practically.

You never know what you’re going to get when you see Opal’s name on the front page.

I wouldn’t worry about it (the moderately spicy food, that is), but bumping a 9 year old thread probably isn’t going to get you any real answers.

It’s not listed on the first page of the Humane Society or ASPCA’s page about what not to feed your pets.
http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/people-foods-avoid-feeding-your-pets
http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/resources/tips/foods_poisonous_to_pets.html
But there’s plenty of other sites to look at and ASPCA has their own poison control (with a $65 fee) if you’re really worried.

disneyineveryway, we prefer that old threads not be bumped in General Questions except to add new factual information. I’m closing this. If you wish to discuss your cat you are welcome to open a new thread in the IMHO forum.
