Anyone want to analyze this?

I dreamt last night that there was a spider in the room. I don’t remember how the dream started, but there was a hairy brown spider, such as is common around here, with a body about an inch long, hanging by a thread from the ceiling. It was very close to my head. I reached above the spider quickly so that I could grab its thread and get the animal onto the floor, whence I would scoop it up in a jar and release it outside. Instead, the spider slipped down onto my hand at the base of my thumb.

Now the spider’s body was two inches long, and metallic green like a scarab. I thought it would bit, but it didn’t. I examined my hand to make sure. In the meantime, the spider escaped. I had a friend with me, and we looked for the spider frantically for a minute, and then gave up, leaving the spider where ever it had gotten to.

Incidentally, there was a hairy brown spider on a curtain last week. I got a jar so I could take it outside, but accidentally hit the curtain and the spider got away behind a piece of furniture. It’s probably still around somewhere.

Fascinating creatures, but I don’t like them on me. I hate it when I walk into a web. I have a ‘spider friend’ outside my front door. It’s been there for a couple of months, and wraps its prey in pea-sized brownish balls that it hangs in its messy web.

Aaack! **Johnny L.A.** , hold me! I only wish I had spider dreams as mundane as yours. I don’t know what to tell you only, I don’t think it’s too much of a bad thing. Spiders intrigue you but only from a distance (me too!). This spider was checking you out, but didn’t really attack you or anything. Maybe it was intrigued by you. See where I’m going with this?

Neither do I. 😕

Tell me what you’d do with this spider dream I had a couple of nights ago.

I am at a woman’s house/apartment with my husband and daughter (she’s five and doesn’t like spiders. At. All.). Apparently, we were considering having her babysit and their were other children there playing. Come to find out this woman is into spiders and has quite a collection. That’s what the children are playing with. Spiders!

Sharing her interest with us, she brings out a couple of those little plastic small pet boxes (the little aquarium type boxes with vented lids), opens them up and out crawls all types and sizes of spiders. One good-sized one runs down the hallway and it’s only then I notice there are spiders EVERYWHERE! Nobody seems to mind the fact that we are standing in the midst of Spiderland but me. I’m freaking out! My daughter is giggling. My husband is completely unfazed.

It is about this time that I decide I need to leave immediately. Here’s where it gets really weird. The three of us walk out the front door and I look back at the hell I’ve just left, there is a humongous (the size of a small dog) hairy spider standing at the front door watching us leave. Inexplicably (and this is why I’m certain it’s time to self-medicate) said spider is wearing a big black scuba mask on its face. The old kind: round with one window.
 😕☹

Explain that one to me!

They’re baring their cares in there.
See, I do know my contractions from possesive pronouns from adverbs. Sheesh!

If this were a movie, it’s around this point that we’d see you with your back turned looking for the spider…

…and your ‘friend’, behind you, slowly morphing back out of human form.

Spiders are creepy.

Of course, your dream didn’t end that way. I think the analogy still holds… the spider is your friend. It didn’t bite you.

Yet.

\*your failure to evict the spider is nagging you. you have a few options:
[ol]
[li]\*turn your house upside down in search of the spider. \* [/li][li]\*forget the whole thing, since your discomfort with spiders is normal. \* [/li][li]\*pay a visit to the spider queen Opal, and say hi. _[/li][/ol]_

If only you knew how long it’s been since anyone said that to me… 😛

Funny, though… After reading **Phnord Prephect** ’s post, I can see myself hugging you; first with one arm, then the other… then another, and another, and another… 😃

You know what’s weird? I’ve only seen a couple of those cute little jumping spiders since I’ve lived here. I hope I haven’t scared them away. They’re so _cute!_

Meh. As long as they’re not crawling on me or hanging in my face, I’m okay with them. Except black widows. They die. (I haven’t seen any up here, though.)
