# Spider-Man Out of the MCU

Marvel/Disney and Sony are apparently [discontinuing their sharing arrangement](https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/spider-man-marvel-studios-disney-sony-dispute-220331860.html) (or at least harshly re-negotiating the price).

I think this is a good thing. The MCU movies have shown a Peter Parker who’s a little too beholden to Tony Stark and overly reliant on his gadgets. This isn’t Spider-Man, it’s Iron Boy, and it’s a lot less appealing than it should be, considering the stellar cast available.
