First of all, let me make it clear that I scoop the back yard every Monday and Thursday, as garbage days are Tuesday and Friday. Well, tomorrow (later today) is scoop day, and I’m a little scared. In a word: spiders. Not ordinary spiders mind you, big ones, FREAKS OF NATURE!

In Florida, there are these common light and dark brownish outdoor spiders. They like to congregate in the tall grass near the house, fence, AC, etc. (Not Brown Wolf Spiders, they hunt at night and are always HUGE!) Usually these ‘little’ daylight active spiders run up outdoor walls when disturbed, play cards, grow to about the size of a quarter and pretty much leave you alone. _Not anymore_.

I noticed all this about two months ago. An abnormally large (Eisenhower dollar sized) version of these common spiders was hanging out on a turd. Right away I realized, “hey, what a good idea, hang out where the flies come to feast!” _light bulb_ Oh, sure, it seemed harmless at first, UNTIL THEY STARTED FIGHTING FOR THE DOG CRAP! Poking, prodding, picking the turds up – THEY DON’T CARE! Now, when I use the scooper to move the damn things, they JUMP AT THE SCOOPER AND THE CRAP! The very same spiders now jump on the edging stones I am putting around the landscaping. No problem, right? Sure, no problem, unless they jump on them _AS THEY HIT THE GROUND!_ Which they do, _ALL THE TIME!_ Sure, I can scare them off, for now.

Should we git, while the gittin’s good? Didn’t Arachnophobia (sic, misspelling a movie title, WTF?!) start out something like this, minus the dog crap?
