Ok, I can’t find a thread about this, and it is driving me crazy that I can’t resolve it myself. Help, please?

I play spider solitaire on XP as a pleasant day-waster. I have the window sized for economy of motion (all of the cards close together). Somehow, yesterday, I did something that changed the size or location of the window, because now I can’t find it. Its just fine maximized, but I don’t like it that big (petty, I know). If I click on the window resize button, it completely disappears from my screen. Still on the taskbar, can be maximized, but unless it is maximized, its invisible. Anyone have any idea what I did or how to fix it?

Why, oh why, must it hide from me?

Try using ALT-Tab until it is the active window. Can you find it?

Once you’ve alt-tabbed to it, can you right-click on it in the taskbar and hit restore, and see if the move or resize functions get you anywhere?

Try [this](http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070421075126AAkq38Y).
Or [this](http://en.allexperts.com/q/Windows-XP-3282/Missing-minimized-programs.htm) might help.

Both of those commands (from right-clicking on the active taskbar tab) just move my cursor to the upper left hand corner of the screen. I can’t believe that this is so hard, I’ve never had anything hide like this before.

This is a common problem, usually seen with MS PhotoEditor. Open Spider Solitaire, maximise it, then open any other application (e.g. Notepad). Right-click the Taskbar and select Cascade Windows. Close your applications via File | Close and when you re-open Spider it will be windowed.

Yay! It worked! Thank you so much! Do you also know what I did to cause it? or is it just a funky Windows thing that I hadn’t yet encountered?

Back to timewasting!

When in doubt, blame Microsoft!

Just one of those wierd M$ quirks. The XY coordinates of the window get set to some value that is completely off the visible sceen.

An alternate solution for future reference.

Right-click on the app in the task bar and select move. Use the cursor keys and the app will jump back to the desktop where you can grab it with the mouse and move it normally.
