I see nothing to indicate that it’s not a black and white photo. Sure the website makes the claim but if there’s anything we’ve learned is that you can’t believe something just because it’s written on the web. I’ve a hard time believing that Sam Raimi would just make a black version of the costume that is identical to the red/blue one. If he was going to do black he would do it right with a new costume. I got $100 that says that Spidey doesn’t wear a black costume anywhere in Spidey 3. ---

Trust me guys, the black was nothing. I’ve got a whole closet full of outfits, cross-referenced for easy selection based on who I’m fighting and where it happens. The finale will feature a great little silk number that I spun out of my own webbing 😉 ---

Even if the web site that says it is [Sony Pictures](http://spiderman.sonypictures.com/)? I don’t know about you, but that’s a source I’d tend to accept as trustworthy. ---

As I understand it, they are going with the Ultimate Spider Man version of the Venom origin. That means no alien symbiote and an Eddie Brock closer to Parkers age and weight class. They were childhood friends whose fathers worked together to make the Venom symbiotic suit as a way to cure cancer amongst other diseases. Needless to say, things took a turn. ---

I have to say, as someone looking forward to seeing Venom in the movies, that just coloring over the original costume so that it’s black, without making the other changes- the much larger, stylized white spider on the chest, the much more streamlined look- is a horrible idea. I’m hoping it’s an unrelated scene that they just exploit for the hook. ---

Maybe not. In the Ultimates black costume issue, he gets the symbiote while in costume. Not to mention that the comic book costume is shown as smooth while the movie version is textured. I think it works from a visual consistency angle.
