I’d call The Muppet Show ( a “family friendly” variety show featuring Raquel Welch in a dance number that melted cathode ray tubes across the country) a spinoff of Sesame Street (a children’s educational show).
I was thinking of saying this, but wasn’t entirely sure. While early Practice was definitely a drama, and late Boston Legal was definitely a comedy, it felt like there was almost a smooth transition through the end of The Practice and into the first two seasons of Boston Legal from one genre to another.
