I just drank one of those little mini bottles of Evian water. Then I casually glanced at the expiration date stamped on the front of the bottle: **11/15/2002** I didn’t even know water could “expire.” This is 7 months past it’s shelf life!!! What is gonna happen to me?!?!?!?!!! :o ---

I wouldn’t sweat it, **Lola**. When my wife and I separated four years ago, she gave me a couple of 12-packs of that famous fizzy drink that forms part of your name. Now the thing is, I’m not much of a Coke drinker. I still have a few cans left. The date on the bottom is Nov. 99. I’m drinking one right now. Of course, if I don’t post tomorrow, you’ll know why. 😃 ---

Hee Hee! Don’t be mad, **Lola** I was just funnin’… filtered, purified water is pretty much “good” forever. Go to [Evian.com](http://Evian.com) and they will tell you all about the aquifer their water is drawn from… your mind will be put at ease. It can probably develop a “stale” taste after a while though… hence the date. rest easy. My first post to this thread was a LOT more fun, tho!! ---

Hey **Biffy** , **samarm** was only speaking about water, not soda. Wouldn’t all that stuff they put in soda start doing something nasty if you let it rot long enough? I religiously observe the ‘due by’ date on _my_ soda cans. Anyone who has better info? OTOH, I’m glad you are furthering the interests of science by volunteering as a test subject. Please keep us updated of the effects. 🙂 ---

I don’t think soft drinks spoil in the sense of being lethal to ingest. But they can develop a nasty taste. I popped open one that was not only past its _Best by_ date, but had been stored in a fairly warm environment for a while. It tasted vile and I dumped it. But I didn’t grow any extra appendages or odd bumps, so I guess it wasn’t toxic… ---
