Arrrgh, lovely turn in the box from Ahn, shot just too high. No surprise in Vieri scoring, take him out of the equation and Italy’s routes to goal are thin on the ground. ---

I want Italy to go through, even though I’ve developed a soft spot for South Korea. I want to see Italy avenge all those terrible terrible offside decisions. I make it five good goals they’ve had disallowed in this tournament. Paolo Maldini said that if Graham Poll “had refereed like that in Italy, he’d have been burnt at the stake”. I’m accepting donations of firewood, old newspapers etc for “Maldini’s Bonfire Appeal” ;). Zanetti just gave away a free kick… Ahn Jun Wan (think that’s right) took it, deflected wide… a corner taken by Park Ji Sung Another corner, but Francesco Coco needs attention after a clash of heads ---

Nice to see the Italians playing good honest defensive Italian football. I don’t think Korea will get through it, to be honest. The only way they will is from a 35 yard rocket. ---

I guess I shouldn’t look in here as I am at work and taping the game. But I actually had the first goal spoiled for me by US radio coming into work. What’s the wold coming to when they divert their attention from baseball, hockey, basketball and golf long enough to tell me that Italy have scored in the 16th minute? Gotta be a sign of the apocalypse, I’m in Cincinnati, Ohio for crying out loud! ---
