I’m disappointed US fans still haven’t come up with any xenophobic, stereotyping and abusive songs. I view that as a vital stage in a nation’s evolving football maturity. Fer goodness sake, wasn’t Steve McQueen in The Great Escape ??!! ---

The Germans just seem like this monolithic, iceberg like team that expects to win by continually creeping forward and eventually overwhelming the other team. Go USA, run them down. The US certainly has some goal scorers sitting on the bench. Cound be some interesting substitutions later on. ---

The USA has had better chances at the goal so far but Germany made good use of those penalty kicks. And damn, that German keeper looks scary. ---

That goal-scorers whole immediate family are **bollocks!** No … wait … I guess that’s “Ballacks.” 😉 Damn, now I know what that earlier “Hugh Dallas” thread title was all about. Does the guy like to make himself part of the game or what? In other popular American sports, we **despise** referees/umpires like that! And dittos on Kahn. He’s so good, it’s intimidating. ---

I find Oliver Kahn pretty scary also, but more because he looks like an ape !!! I mean this guy should definitely be on the all-ugly team. Also, he’s just soooooo intense the whole time. It loks like he could use a Valium half the time. He can be pretty brutal also. He likes to use his bulk and pull up his knees when charging off the line. ---
