Here in South Africa, we get seasons of shows like Survivor and Amazing Race a full one to two seasons after they’ve shown in the states. I’ve had to adopt a policy of staying out of CS altogether because I am a complete spoilerphobe, and don’t want to risk seeing even a mild spoiler about Lost simply because we’re a few weeks behind on that one. There have been a few instances of thread titles or mouseovers giving away too much information for me.
My point is, some of us are indeed much farther behind than a week or two, or even a month or two, on shows where spoilers take away the fun. I won’t open a thread discussing a show or an episode I haven’t seen yet, but there’s definite validity in removing the spoiler from the thread title and mouseover space.
(Grrr, I had one season of Survivor spoiled for me when a completely unrelated You Tube video’s description decide to celebrate the winner’s triumph.)
