Specifically, that all of **TD** ’s stuff got disappeared and life went on for her (something **Mynn** was very vocally against happening) but poor **SM** ’s shit is still out there, closed, but quite linkable for anyone to point and laugh at. **Mynn** dislikes what seems to be an obvious double-standard and the apparent closing of the ranks by the twee jackbooted ones to protect one of their own. Since discussions of bannings (at least since we went P2P) often happen in ATMB, **Mynn** starts a thread about it there, hoping for a civil discussion of the (to her) obvious parallels and inherent unfairness. In her exasperation and disgust, her OP was less than descriptive and most of everyone couldn’t quite grok what she was on about. Thread closed. Then one of the twee jackbooted ones realized there was a better-than-average chance her OP was meant as mod criticism, so they moved the thread to the Pit, re-opening it. Quite opposite of **Mynn** ’s intent, the **SM** troubles get linked to and instead of a proper “Are there parallels in these two situation, and if so, were they dealt with the same way, why or why not” discussion as **Mynn** wanted, this thread starts re-flogging **SM** but then gets rightly centered on the weakness of the OP. With me now? 🆒 ---

**biggirl** by not deleting the cat/dog thread, every reference to it brings it up, people go to her board and threaten and harass her to the point of possible criminality. even when this was told to SDMB folks, it wasn’t worth deleting. I guess she actually has to file charges against people for harassment, assuming they’re even tracable at this point w/o the assistance of SDMB? Or file charges agains SDMB for not removing the thread, facilitating the harassment? Not sure. But it sounds a helluva lot like it could have been handled very sanely a long ass time ago. ---

Well, the original quote (Mark Twain? Harry S. Truman?) went “There are three kinds of lies - lies, damn lies, and statistics,” with the implication that of the three, statistics was the worst of the three listed. It’s a simple step to equate “teeming millions” with “statistics” in that context, making it the worst type of fool. At least it is with me. Maybe I was the only one? ---
