# Sports dreams thread

A cross between MPSIMS and Game Room, I guess:

Anybody here have odd, vivid dreams about their sports team or sports in general before?

- I once dreamt the Eagles beat the Bengals in 2010 in the Super Bowl at the Cowboys’ new stadium (this was when the stadium was new.) I told it to fellow Cowboys fans, who jokingly told me to lay off the drugs.
- I also had a nightmare where the Redskins (what Washington was called at the time) beat the Cowboys 63-14 or something like that.
- I once had a dream that Russell Westbrook punched me in the face, ha.
- Last night, I dreamt that two Houston teams were in the championship simultaneously - the Rockets playing the Magic in the NBA Finals and the Astros (yet again, sigh) playing some other team.

Sometimes I have generic baseball-themed dreams, either watching a game or participating in one. I recall one very vivid dream in which I was in some wooden grandstand. Participation dreams, particularly ones in which I’m at bat, aren’t so vivid because the playing field dimensions are always _way_ off. Like I’m playing inside an oddly-shaped [box](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRUxrH1LF6MbdXnA-VQ4cbHS1X2j01uN1V0KQ&usqp=CAU) or something.

Definitely a dream. Nightmare? I suppose if you’re a Cowboys fan but every season must be a nightmare for you if that’s the case. Washington fans have no allusions of a successful season.

The night before a Bears’ game a few years ago, I dreamed that one of their backup defensive tackles scored a TD on a trick goal line play. My dream was super-vivid, in color, with replays and announcer commentary. It was so realistic that when I woke up I actually thought for a minute that the play was real and the game had already happened.

It did not come true.
