Inspired by the baseball euphemisms for sex thread, what expressions do you have in your countries or in other sports besides baseball?

If a man gets a woman pregnant, he might tell his buddies that he “slipped one past the goalie.” Not sure if this was originally inspired by hockey, soccer, or other.

There’s the term “score”, which may not mean a “homerun” in the baseball metaphor, as one can just score digits, kisses, a date, or sex acts other than PIV sex.

And if you don’t mind another baseball one: There’s “designated hitter” for the guy who takes the less attractive girl so you can be with the more attractive one.

Oh, and saying it’s “your serve” when trying your luck with a new woman, after a friend has “struck out” ala the baseball term. I don’t know why they mix the sports.

Ooh. “Picking up a spare”: having sex with someone after getting rebuffed when getting close last time.

That’s a new one to me, but then again I have never run with a crowd of “players” anyway (at least, not openly playing). I like it. And it does open the mental door to the creative hijacking of other bowling terms like “7-10 split”, “blowing the rack”, “missing the head pin” and “sinking it in the pocket” as well. (I don’t even want to go to what it would mean to score a “crossover” or “Jersey” strike.)

A friend of mine once used the (American) football term “scored a safety” in a suggestive way but I could not picture what he meant at the time, being only cursorily familiar with the game. As I understand it, a safety play is a general term for the various ways a team can score points without possession of the football. Hmmm.

There’s the similar “pulling the goalie”, indicating you’re stopping the use of birth control in an attempt to get pregnant. Presumably hockey, since I don’t think they ever pull the goalie in soccer.

Hockeywise, I fear to think of what a “power play” scenario would be. Though a compare-and-contrast of what constitutes an “icing” penalty on either side of the Atlantic could be entertaining on a double entendre level.

An icing penalty would be a pass that crosses more than one line, wouldn’t it? With the result that you’re pushed way back into your area.

Another ice hockey term you don’t want to think about as a sexual analogy: “ringing the pipe”, a shot on goal that deflects away hard off of the post/crossbar of the net. Ow. Ow. Ow.

On the other hand, “pulling a Gretzky” to refer to reaching around from behind to score from behind the net really says it all right there.

It was a major. I tried to appeal but it was overturned. I wasn’t allowed on the ice for like two weeks.

I’m more concerned about the interpretation of “All 10 in the pit.”

I only read of it online. I used to frequent “players” forums. Some of them seemed to feature a contest for the most creative metaphors. Every PUA (pick up artist) had their own favorite lingo.

I was one of those losers who knows a lot about the various theories, but has precious little practice. I still consider myself inexperienced, but I at least no longer think of myself as a loser. Well, most of the time, anyways.

So you’ve gone from AFC to rAFC?
