wooly: I guess nobody is going to point it out, so I will. My first post in respect to the Missouri-Colorado game was intended to be sarcastic. What actually happened in the game in question was that Colorado, knowing they had used all of their downs, ran a play on fifth down, scoring a touchdown and winning the game. They then refused to acknowledge that they had recieved an unfair advantage in violation of the rules. My attempt at irony was indeed a feeble one.
I agree with you about John Landy; a wonderful case of good sportsmanship. Sports should be more about fair play, teamwork, and giving your best effort than winning. Look at a high school or college in the US and you’re unlikely to find that the case.
