Edgar Buchanan, AKA Uncle Joe from _Petticoat Junction_ as a good bad guy in _Have Gun Will Travel_.
Also [Morgan Woodward](http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0940971/) from the Big Valley, but that isn’t surprising, he was all over the damn place.

Steve McQueen on _Track Down_, a western featuring Robert Culp later of _I Spy_.
McQueen played a bounty hunter named Josh Randall, and the network gave him his own series, _Wanted Dead or Alive_.

Collin Wilcox, aka “Mayella Violet Ewell” in _ **To Kill a Mockingbird** _, was a hot teenager in “Number 12 Looks Just Like You” on Friday’s _ **Twilight Zone** _.

She was also the hot widow who threw a glass of wine in Robert Conrad’s face in an episode of _ **Columbo** _.

Robert Conrad spent an entire series as a Honolulu detective on the series _Hawaiian Eye_.

In fact, since _77 Sunset Strip_ and _Hawaiian Eye_ were made by the same people, this was probably a “crossover” , or at least a trial.

> Hawaiian Eye is an American detective television series that ran from October 1959 to April 1963 on the ABC television network.

> Hawaiian Eye was one of several ABC/Warner Bros. Television detective series of the era situated in different exotic locales. Others included Hollywood-based 77 Sunset Strip, Bourbon Street Beat, set in New Orleans, and Miami’s Surfside Six. In reality, all were shot on the Warner Brothers lot in Los Angeles, making it easy for characters—and sometimes whole scripts—to cross over. Although the shows aren’t spin-offs in the traditional sense, Sunset was the first in this chain of “exotic location detective series”. In this regard, Hawaiian Eye was the most viable of the Sunset look-alikes, lasting four seasons.[

There was an episode of this on YouTube (at least a partial one) featuring Barbara Bain of _ **Mission: Impossible** _ fame. IIRC, she played a truly desperate housewife who went along with an armored car heist to keep her husband out of jail.

I don’t know if the missing segment was ever added, but I’d really like to see more of this show. I vaguely remember it (along with _ **Surfside Six** _) from when I was in Kindergarden or First Grade.

_ **77 Sunset Strip** _ I definitely remember from my preschool days.

Robert Conrad was my favorite actor in the early '70s (I was late to Wild Wild West, but scarfed it down), and I watched like a stalker for any sign of him in anything (“The DA,” “Assignment: Vienna,” “Five Desperate Women [TVM]”\*). Years later, I suffered through, “Jingle All The Way,” and didn’t realize until the credits that the cop was RC (didn’t he get blowed up real good–cartoon style?).

\*“FDW” was the first thing I saw where RC dies at the end–he’s the bad guy. I was sniffling for his death, which was hardly the point of the movie.

A couple of Doctor Who actors far from a TARDIS

Patrick Troughton (Classic Doctor 2) played Phineus in _Jason and the Argonauts_, almost unrecognizable with a heavy beard.

Peter Davsion (Classic Doctor 5) showed up on _All Creatures Great and Small_ His goat was sick or something like that.

Davison didn’t just “show up” on _All Creatures_. He was a regular cast member, playing young veterinarian Tristan Farnon. Indeed, _All Creatures_ is what brought him to fame, and pre-dated his time on _Doctor Who_ by a couple of years.

Mr. Atoz (the character, not me) was Ian Wolfe. He had a _very_ long career, starting in the 1930s and lasting until 1990. He was one of those guys who was in _everything_. Wikipedia claims “around 400” roles in film and television. And that’s not even counting his theater work, which was also extensive.

He always looked like a little old man, even in his thirties!
