Spotting Star Trek actors in other programs

“It had a beak that could swallow a dozen starships!”

Since I received the first 4 seasons of Ironside on DVD for Christmas (a little early), I’ve been binge-watching. William Shatner has shown up twice, first as a convict whose wife is murdered while he’s in prison, then as a parole officer who gets shot at in the street–by one of his parolees, he says.

Since Eve Whitfield (Barbara Anderson) was also Kodos’s loopy daughter in “The Conscious of the King,” that makes her brief scenes with Shatner just a little more fun.

Walter Koenig has also appeared once, selling PCP-laced tobacco to schoolkids.

Psssst! It’s “conscience,” not “conscious.”

So it is. If Kirk had been conscious of “the king,” he would’ve spotted him earlier.

Outstanding!

“Peter the Great used PCP. Also Catherine the Great gave it to her horse, to keep up strength. Is Great Wusshin kustum!”

Inwention.

Dammit, you are wight!
Moduhwaytor?

Bruce Hyde, who played crewman Kevin Riley in TOS, was a department store employee in a Christmas episode of “The Beverly Hillbillies”.

Nuclear wessels.

Welllllll, doggies! Don’ that beat all!

“We will sing Jingle Bells one-more-time!”

“For God’s sake, get that door open!”

Could be worse. Could be “Sleigh Ride.”

What had he done, start a reactor override, a something override that would destroy Enterprise?

Riley shut off the engines, they went cold and could not be started without warming up the anti-matter first, which takes a half hour but they only had three minutes until they burned up in the atmosphere. Or some such.

So they forced it and somehow wound up going back three days in time.

If they ever do a ST cooking show, I hope the first episode is “The Couscous of the King.”

Thereby giving birth to Scotty’s immortal “I can’t change the laws of physics. I’ve got to have thirty minutes.”

I must have missed that episode of Beverly Hillbillies.

I think it was the one where Mr Drysdale tried that elaborate scheme to keep the Clampetts from going back home to Bugtussel.

What does it mean: the engines imploded? Obviously, not what I think it means or the Enterprise wouldn’t be going anywhere for a while. You think it was more like Scotty got out and pushed it down hill and then Sulu engaged the clutch?
