Spotting Star Trek actors in other programs

It looks like Mindy’s dad is wearing the helmet from “The Tholian Web” and the cheapo repurposed–shower curtain spacesuit from “The Naked Time.”

Yeah!

The C-57D being reused in the tiny space ship Twilite Zone was a fun find, too. Just used one of the models laying around…

Cool.
When I saw the Forbidden Planet saucer on the Twilight Zone, I thought they had just standardized flying saucers.

Good job remembering the number from the narration.

It’s Forbidden Planet!

IIRC, FB was one of Roddenberry’s inspirations for ST in the first place

A pre-***Taxi ***Christopher Lloyd as the guy with a grudge who trashes the 12th Precinct squadroom on Barney Miller.

FP, not FB

:dubious:

It could very well be the pilot. “The Captain of star cruiser C-57D, his First Officer and the ship’s Doctor beam down…er, Star cruiser 57-D lands on a planet to evacuate a failed colony. Despite a murderous invisible creature, Dr. Morbius and his daughter do not wish to leave.”

The film includes the wonderful line delivered by a swimming Anne Francis, “What’s a bathing suit?”

Anne Francis, mmmmmmmmmmmmm! :o

Yes.

Yes, I saw it again just a year or so ago, and Roddenberry’s debt to it was very clear. It still holds up pretty well, too.

Clint “Balok” Howard as the Smog Strangler suspect in Seinfeld.

Ed “Col Fellini, USAF” Peck as Patrolman Frank Slater in “The Harris Incident” on Barney Miller.

Just spotted Michelle Forbes (Ens. Ro Laren) as a rebel infantry officer in Mockingjay, Part 2, the last of the Hunger Games movies.

Found this one on the way back machine

Something different

That ship was used many times over the years.

I recall seeing a picture of the prop hanging on someone’s wall

I believe Forbidden Planet is the best science fiction film of all time (well so far)
I really hope no one tries to remake it. The new TDTESS was a complete disaster and I would hope no one ruins FP in the same way.

Also as the compositized mission controller in Apollo 13.

Anyone else in both ST and a nonfiction space film/show?

ST and the 1998 HBO miniseries From the Earth to the Moon had quite a few actors and actresses in common, mentioned at the end of the second paragraph here: Daniel Hugh Kelly | Memory Alpha | Fandom

And the USAF radar operator in the Austin Powers movies.
