Spotting Star Trek actors in other programs

Just spotted Alexander Siddig as an Imperial prosecutor in the recent Foundation miniseries.

And Corbin Bernsen as a conservative Congressman from Michigan on The West Wing.

Richard Riehle was also on The West Wing episode I saw last night, as a Detroit Police sergeant. He’s played three different ST characters over the years.

I also recently watched the Mafia movie Donnie Brasco, in which this ST actor appeared:

Sally Kellerman, “Dr Elizabeth Dehner” in the second Star Trek pilot, as Ann’s girlfriend “Sandy Stafford” in the That Girl episode “Break a Leg.”

NB: George Carlin is in this episode as Ann’s agent “George Lester.”

These actors both appeared in the The West Wing episode which I just saw, the first as a liberal U.S. senator, and the second as a State Department official.

Another West Wing spotting - he played a cartographer visiting the White House:

Natalie Norwick, “Mrs Leighton” in “The Conscience of the King,” as nursemaid “Janet Murch” in the suspense thriller 23 Paces to Baker Street (1956).

Joseph Mell, the “Trader” in “The Cage,” as “Sol” in the “Soap Gets in Your Eyes” episode of That Girl.

Susan Oliver, Vina and the green dancing girl, hubba hubba, in the Star Trek pilot, “The Cage” in the Wagon Train episode, “The Lily Legend Story”.

Usually when i watch a dumb 25 minute old show {Like Dragnet} ill look up an actress if she seems memorable. In the third ep of season one there was a woman named Peggy Webber

45 then in 1969. Turns out I’d seen her before as a mom in the first Twilight Zone, and she was The Admirals aged wife in TNG: Too Short a Season.

She’s STILL alive. Like the 22cnd oldest actor/actress today.

Edit: Nevermind that was Marsha Hunt…I got them confused because they are both still alive and in their mid nineties.

I’ve been watching a lot of West Wing lately. Spread across several episodes:

This guy played a Big Phama executive:

She appeared as a White House budget analyst:

He was the Secretary of Agriculture:

He was a Democratic Congressman:

Bruce Hyde, “Lt Kevin Riley,” as rich kid “Hobart Niles” in the “Beware of Actors Bearing Gifts” episode of That Girl.

He played a judge in the Albert Brooks comedy Defending Your Life, which I just saw (and was also in the sf classic Forbidden Planet, many years before):

I watched “The Puppet Masters” last night. Featured as female lead Julie Warner who played Christie Henshaw in TNG. Also Andrew Robinson in a small part.

DeForest Kelly and John Hoyt (“The Two Doctors”) in the Bonanza episode “The Decision.”

Clint Howard (who appears in just about every movie his brother Ron directs) as a nursing home attendant in Cocoon.

Paul Carr, “Lt Kelso” in “Where No Man Has Gone Before,” as a would-be boyfriend in That Girl’s “What Are Your Intentions?”

Sally Kellerman, who played Dr. Elizabeth Dehner in TOS “Where No Man Has Gone Before,” has died.

Ken Lynch again as the father of a young Flamenco dancer in the Dick van Dyke episode “The Talented Neighborhood” (1962).

Ian “Mr Atoz” Wolfe again as the secretary to Jimmy Stewart’s dad in Frank Capra’s You Can’t Take It With You (1938). Blink and you’ll miss him!

William Schallert (“Nils Barris” in “The Trouble with Tribbles”) as “Reverend Kirk” (!) in the Dick van Dyke episode “A Word a Day” (1962). The baby expert Dr Spock is mentioned in this episode as well.

Leah (aka Lia) Waggner, Schallert’s wife IRL, was in this episode as “Mrs Kirk.” She also appeared opposite him in two episodes of The Patty Duke Show, where he was Patty’s father (along with his uncle and twin brother).
