Me: (under breath: _ohferfuckssake_) “Fine, hold on. I’ll make you a milkshake real quick.” … then as I’m hustling to the shake machine, behind me, I hear this choking voice barely gasp out, … “chocolate?” Me: “OMFG I will make you a 🤬 chocolate milkshake.” { _orders are stacking up … I’m also gasping, laughing at his dumb ass_ } Y’all, I bring him a small chocolate milkshake and he _gulps_ it down. Trades whatever pain he was in for an ice cream headache … which makes _ME_ laugh even harder. … while running two registers, and (trying to) keep a professional face to customers. He spent half his shift running to the bathroom. I’ll admit, it was annoying … and also HILARIOUS he left me and another girl in charge, and we had fun fist-bumping each other about how chicks run this joint. ---

I’m so sorry about your dad, **sunny**. That’s got to be scary! **shoe** , your job sounds like it provides for a LOT of entertainment. I’ve got nothing today - I’m blah and it’s cold outside. I should walk or run while I’ve got a break between meetings & activities, but I don’t _want_ to. What’s that people say? Somebody call a “wah-mbulance?” Sounds about right. ---

Afternoon all. Got the shopping and sammich run done promptly, then actually put on a dress shirt and slacks (the most dressed up I’ve been in months) and met with the Lawyer, (she’ll do up the will and it cost me $500…the law ain’t cheap). Then swam 1,400 yards or so (I think I did 56 lengths of the pool, but my counting isn’t great while I’m avoiding drowning). May go for 1,500 on Wednesday. Heading out for a walk/watch kids soccer here in a bit then get some excessive calories from someplace. **shoe** , I’d end up like your manager if you fed me a ghost pepper anything; I have no resistance to hot stuff. Hopefully he’ll remember your good deed and not any suppressed laughter… **Unknown** , I try not be be a stubborn old man, but I’ve dealt with them before, so I know what you’re going through. And the saga of the Jays at feeding sounds like it could be a pretty good college paper. **doggio** , You are living/working in the middle of a Dilbert cartoon, with a touch of _The Office_. **Sunny** , best wishes for your Dad; I know the type. When I was looking the Jays up, I found a page that had a long list of things that Jays eat. At the bottom of that list was another titled “What Jays Don’t Eat” : Large birds and fish. We call the bird feeders our Kitty Kable, all of the cats enjoy watching the yard flock flutter back and forth. I’m having problems finding the ribbons for my friend’s project. The manufacturer doesn’t seem to have an online presence and most of the retail stores I’m finding are in the valley. Or Walmart, but that’s pretty much a non-starter too because I can’t find them on their shopping page. I’m hoping to find them during merchandise night at the needlework convention or else I’m going to have to start dragging hubs and his good eyes to to fabric stores so he can help me find a close color match. Speaking of the convention, a gardening Tucson doper has offered me a fig tree and I’m hoping we can meet up then. He’s not a mumper yet, that might change when he learns about all the other gardening folks here. ---

We have hail and I’ve heard thunder at least once, possibly twice. The cat is burrowed under the covers and the bird seems worried. You’d think they’d realize that they’re safely indoors and protected from the weather. ---

Howdy Y’all! Got stuff done today. Had to charge the battery on the ridin’ mower, so did not accomplish mowage, but did trim back some bushes and haul off the leavin’s from the trimmin’ so there’s that. Sup also got cooked and et and the kitchen cleanded up. Plus da cave got spiffed. OK, we did not do that one, but we paid for it, so that counts. **BooFae** glad Ophelia did so well with her surgery. The realtor came over today with the energy assessor. She was also here to show us comparable sales in our 'hood and to suggest an opening price. She showed us a price that is $300,000 more than we paid for this place 12 years ago. Mind you, this house is only about 1400 sf with 1.5 bathrooms. I was gobsmacked. ---

And this is why young people live with their parents until they are in their 40’s. Our home is just barely bigger than yours and it’s appreciated over 100G in less than 4 years and we don’t live in what most folks consider to be a desirable location. It’s just insane. ---

Tha weather here has been absurd for late March. The last 5 miles of my drive in to the shop was through a whiteout. And it hasn’t gotten above 18 all day, with howling winds. Supposed to be nearly 70 on thursday. ---

Charming picture, **FCM**. Kid has way more hair on his head than I do (but I have a much better beard…). **Cookie** , I know my house has appreciated (paid $104.900 in 1997), but I doubt it’s been that much. **Unknown’s** right though, how anybody affords these places without taking on a ton of debt is beyond me. One reason I never moved to the East Coast for my job was the cost of living there. Had my walk, watched some youth soccer teams practice, and then consumed way to many calories for dinner, but I am happy so there is that. Internettin’ and readin’ are now on the agenda for the balance of the night. All y’all take care. ---

_Somebody_ has disappeared one of the skeins of thread from my current project. Each skein of thread is in it’s own little zip-lock bag, so it wasn’t taken to unravel all over the place. This is a 79 cent skein of the most common needlework flosses in the world (DMC 3346), which is available at any arts and crafts store in the USA. I wouldn’t want to drive to town for just one skein of floss on a good day, I certainly do not want to spend ten bucks on gas to drive to town for a measly .79 purchase. After moving furniture and looking under beds and recliners, I called Mom and whined. She understood and totally validated my frustration. She’s going to see if she has that color and is going to send me another box of needlework stuff so hopefully I won’t have to call the needlework place and ask them to send some to me. The nice ladies at the needlework place tell me that they always feel bad when I order something small because they hate charging me more for shipping than for the product. _Somebody_ is on my black list and _somebody else_ was probably involved so is second place on the bad kitty list. ---
