It’s a modernization of the anti-Semitic [blood libel](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_libel). Years ago, I’d see similar accusations [coyfully hurled by racists on this board](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/sdmb-bigoted-asshole-omnibus-thread/623489/2166).
