What kind of a name is Squee? I’m serious. No sarcasm. I have a family member named “Squee” and I’ve always wanted to ask that. His mom is still alive, I guess I could ask her, but it’s easier to ask you. When I was little kid and asked my parents they treated me as if I was being rude. ---

**SoMoMom** , You aren’t the first Doper to ask me this, but I’ll be happy to post it in the open (usually people e-mail me to ask). I’m afraid you will be disappointed by my answer. Squee is a character from the _Johnny the Homocidal Maniac_ comic book. It was one of my favorite comics, so I lifted the name. It was a toss-up between Squee and Happy Noodle Boy. 🙂 I’ve never heard of anyone in real life with that moniker, but now I’m curious too! I’m assuming it is a nickname of some sort, no? Well, the things you learn if you ask. Apparently, Squee has a given name that was the same as our grandfather’s, not Squee. When he was a baby his older brother received a magazine called Children Activities Magazine. In this magazine there were always stories about the Little Bit Family. The littlest Little Bit was named Squee. Someone started calling the baby “Squee” and he was Squee ever since. Once my mother was talking about Squee and a woman came up to her and asked if she had heard right. This woman’s daughter had gone to school with a Squee in Blythville, Arkansas. It’s nice to meet you too! 🙂 ---
