St. Louis Restaurants

Rigazzi’s has indeed rebuilt and is open for business!

The Dillard’s Clearance Center is CLOSING FOR GOOD… There’s something on the order of an extra 70% off right now.

And, there is a Bandana’s in Columbia off N Providence in addition to the 8 St. Louis Area locations and St. Joseph, MO.

That title is now possessed by Faraci’s, a great Italian/pizza place also in Ballwin, on Manchester. If you like pizza, you’ll like Faraci’s. (That’s fuh-RAH-cheese.)

Oh, now that’s just sad. Why are they closing?

The closing of a clearance center also makes the Baby Jesus cry. Now I’ll HAVE to stop by.

Those pizza places sound good. I think I’m going to forget my diet all weekend and just have a damned good time. It’s not like I’m losing weight on a deadline or anything. Food is fun.

Imo’s Pizza. 'Nuff said.

For Japanese, Kobe’s or Nobata, which is similar to a Benihana’s.

German, go to Schneithorst’s.

Bandana’a is the place for BBQ. KC Masterpiece is pretty decent too, but higher priced.

For Seafood, RL Steamers is it.

For subs, Penn Station makes the best.

Zhivago’s is tough to beat, and if nothing else, they have the vodka bar with well over 100 varieties.

There’s also Lee’s Famous chicken which makes KFC obsolete, Houlihans in most malls, and a small bar in our neighboorhood (can’t remember the name) that makes great chicken wings.

I can’t comment on any of the Italian places cuz I personally don’t like much of that food, but an Italian I work with swears by The Old Spaghetti Factory.

Give a yell if you get in the Chesterfield/Ballwin area!

IMO’S? <shiver> <cough>

Just went to Faraci Pizza for the first time… (it’s in Ellisville, not Ballwin)

The boiling hot pizza reminded me of something from a box mix… Right up there with Chef Boyardee. Salad dressing slightly less saline than ocean water.

And, worst of all, NO FREE REFILLS ON $1.50 SODAS!

Gasp! In my family, such blasphemy is grounds for a beating. The pizza does come hot, I admit, but it’s definitely no Chef Boyardee garbage. To each his own, I guess. Maybe you’re more of the thick-crust and mozarella type? (For the rest of you, Faraci’s does the St. Louis style, Provel cheese on a super-thin crust.) But I agree the refill policy blows. I usually just get water, though.

Yeah, and I knew it wasn’t Ballwin, but I couldn’t remember where it was.

Also, I’m sorry if you went there based on my recommendation and didn’t find it as awe-inspiring as I do.

There are local people here? People are eating in restaurants a block from my house in Ellisville and nobody calls? <sniffle>
