The saucer section of the TOS Enterprise had those two triangular shaped grey areas on the bottom, which some folks say are landing legs. (A third leg is hidden by the “neck”.)

Yeah, I hear you on the Ent-D saucer. Maybe it should have had tiny warp engines of its own. Or maybe some technobabble about how it could sustain a warp field, just not produce one so the ship could separate and the saucer could go on its merry way while the battle hull turned around and fought…whoever.

You don’t need warp drive to land. The saucer survived a descent to a planet when Troi was driving.

Must have been after one of the many refits in the '80s. 😕

This is what’s called “dumb fool luck.” :smack:

> What was it that Wesley said to Guinan after he boffed that hot young shape-shifter—“When does the feeling go away?” Something like that. :dubious:

The most annoying line for me was just every time Data goes into unnecessary detail about something trivial until slapped down by Picard, or occasionally Riker.

Every episode had at least one line like that.

And people say the dynamic between picard and data was the best part of the show…

I think Guinan’s reply was: “It never goes away.”

Like some alien STD, it never goes away … you just learn to live with it.\*

\*My interpretation. ☹

S1, E4: Aside from the actual introduction of the Ferengi, it was a pretty good episode.

> As I’ve noted here many times before, this is pure BS. Service personnel can and do spend long periods of time away from their families; it’s their job. If they don’t like it, they should have chosen a different career path. (And there never seems to be any shortage of personnel willing to endure the hardship.)
>
> Husband and wife teams on board, of course. Mandatory birth control for unmarried females, absolutely. Reassignment or retirement for pregnant females, makes perfect sense. If a child is born on board ship during a long mission, drop it and the mother off at a Star Base at the earliest possible opportunity.
>
> Peaceful, shmeasful. The Galaxy is full of dangers we still know nothing about and aliens that would kill or enslave you at the drop of a hat. Exposing children to that sort of thing is downright criminal, and no one incapable of manning a Battle Station has any business being on board.

> No matter how bad the movies got, it was the 'Star Trek' television series that showed how evil the Federation really was.
