TWOK is so well written that the deleted scenes only had to be cut for time. Putting them back would not be detrimental to the movie and would in fact, help add some more depth to the story. If I remember right, there was a sub plot about Peter Preston and Saavik having a relationship. But I think that was only in the novelization. ---

Scotty’s sister’s youngest child. He was a cadet on the Enterprise and rescued an injured crewmate during the first attack but was subsequently injured. Scotty brought his charred dying body up to the bridge - no reason given. ---

Yeah - that never made sense to me. In TOS, Chekov would often take up the Science Officer Post when Spock had other duties. I think it just shows that the writers of TMP had no idea what to do with him. ---

So what was commander Kyle doing on the Reliant? I thought he was the one who gave the environmental report on C.A.5 when the Captain and Chekov are discussing the Minor energy flux reading on one dynoscanner. Wouldn’t that make Kyle the science officer? ---
