Poverty does probably correlate with street crime, but there are lots of non-violent, white collar types of crime in which blacks are not so disproportionate. ---

I don’t understand what point you’re trying to make here. Sure, the incidence of different kinds of crimes is different in urban versus rural areas; there’s a higher rate of muggings in big cities and a higher rate of arson in small towns, for example (as illustrated in [these stats](http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/cius2008/data/table_31.html)). Overall, there are more white criminals than black criminals, but racial percentages change for different types of crimes. ---

I just want to point out that the [Stop Snitchin’](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stop_Snitchin%27) movement seems to reinforce the idea that there is to some degree a culture of criminality within urban black communities.
