I grew up in Hyde Park. I was surrounded by it. To this day, you can find posters on the community bulletin board (not like this place, but an actual wooden board where people “post” notes printed on paper) outside of the “Co-op” for communist party meetings. Hyde Park and the U of C in general, are Berkeley East and Cambridge West, “Chicago School” economics notwithstanding. I know the crowd Obama came up with, many personally. And if you don’t know what “community activist” is a code-word for, well, dude, you just don’t remember the 60’s!

Ummm, no we weren’t. We led the way in almost every area of technology, and still do. Ever heard of Henry Ford? Thomas Edison? For that matter Benjamin Franklin? These guys led the whole world in technological advancement. One of the reasons that old King George had such a hard-on for the colonies is we were outstripping the British at their own game! It wasn’t an Arab Sheik in King Arthur’s court, moron.

Start then by explaining exactly what the tenants of Marxism are, and how the Obama administration’s platform embodies those principles.

Be specific. Obviously you don’t have to post a treatise of Marxist thought, but explain in simple, straightforward terms what you think it is, and how Obama’s administration fits into it.

I will admit that there are rare exceptions to the rule, like my friend Ted Hayes, or Native American activist Russell Means, but the majority of them are basically commies, looking to get their mouth on a nipple of the public teat in the name of some cause they couldn’t care less about. Obama is a prime example, and he rode it all the way.

Yes it was. You may object that it wasn’t the US at the time, or that it might have developed on its own, but the selfsame objections apply to your uniformed and trite drivelling assessments about Persia and Iran. With me yet?

No, you are correct, they weren’t invited. They came anyway, though, and imposed a worldview that they thought was best for all. It’s about time they grew out of it.

On second thoughts, most of them have, and I apologise for any offence. **Stan** , however, needs to pull his head out of Coulter’s nethers and learn some history.

How about such conservative community activists as Pat Robertson, Kenneth Copeland, Grover Norquist and Ralph Reed? Are they all Marxists as well? Not to mention Sarah Palin, proud member of the PTA, perhaps the largest group of community organizers in the country?

Marxism is the ideology that establishes a path whereby the means of production will ultimately be in the hands of the worker. In various forms, notably in the Soviet Union, but to a similar degree in smaller states throughout the world, it has been expressed in totalitarianism that was claimed to be a needed step between the savagery of capitalism and the worker’s paradise. The theory was, that once all were made equal, the state would naturally fade away, leaving a pure state of communism, to the benefit of all. To describe the results of that philosophy as “mixed” would be exceedingly charitable.

Obama seeks to bring more and more of our private economy under the aegis of the state. His massive government spending programs will necessarily involve the confiscation of more and more private assets for conversion to the purposes of the state. Therefore, Obama’s policies can accurately be described as Marxist.

Any other questions?

I doubt they would call themselves “community activists”. And they are all asshats as well. And the PTA can suck an egg. They are pinko too.

Wrong. The fact that we were beating the British (the previous leaders of the age) in technological development was THE precipitating factor leading up to the revolutionary war. King George was flat out afraid of the competition that we were giving the folks back home, and the steps he took to stifle it were what drove the whole shebang. The inventiveness of a relatively free people, away from the stifling influence of the crown, was a potent force, one that set us on the path to independence. Ever heard of Yankee Ingenuity? They weren’t talking about a baseball team! You are the one that needs to brush up on some history.

Just to get this absolutely clear, because I honestly can’t tell whether you know this or not: you do realize that Henry Ford and Thomas Edison did not in any way influence the events that precipitated the American Revolution, right?
