Wow. That was pretty wild seeing Paul Kariya “come back to life” after that hit! He comes back to life! He scores! Well, I’m glad he’s okay. But ouch, that score hurt. Just like Sykora’s right now (:eek: , 5 to 1). ---

SIGH. Well, this is just the cherry on top of my sports sundae. First, standing for 7 hours at Belmont racetrack to see Funny Cide come in third. Cold, wet and broke. No Triple Crown. No Stanley Cup **yet**. 🙂 ---

I think everyone was talking about how today was supposed to be this great New York sports day. With the Devils winning the Cup, Funny Cide winning the Triple Crown and Roger getting his 300th. Well, 0-3. Good. And the Ducks clamp down in Game 7 and win 2-1 in overtime. And Acevedo doesn’t leave his room in Chicago and never returns to New York for fear of retribution. ---

How can you not want the Ducks to win the Cup? I, personally, can’t wait until it is defiled forever with a team owned by Disney named after a kid’s movie. I’m not kidding! Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, Edmonton Oilers, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. Sweet. ---

Must be a Lindros family trait. Kariya may be fragile, but he demonstrated what it means to be the captain of your team. This is the Stanley Cup Finals. Unless your life is in danger if you skate again, you _have_ to get up from those hits. You never know when, or even if, you’ll be there again. You can’t pull a Dirk Nowitski in this situation. ---

Yeah, except all the times he doesn’t get back up. He sits out a week, a couple weeks. A tougher player wouldn’t need to do all that. Hence, fragility. All you have to do is look at Kariya funny, and he crumples. 😉 ---

I want Anaheim to win simply because they beat Detroit(my team) in the first round. Everyone was laughing, but this team has shown that it wasn’t a fluke to beat the Wings(and Stars, and Wild). ---
