I was watching it again this afternoon and just realized Kirk’s father is Thor!

Yup. Chris may have paid his dues in Australia, but he sure stepped right off the boat into memorable roles here.

The story I have heard is that he so impressed people by making the most of his small part in Star Trek that THAT’S what actually locked him in for Thor.
