In [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=6026930#post6026930), a Star Trek ripoff, ostensibly from Russia, is exposed as a prank.

But, is there a _real_ Trek Fandom in Russia today?
Was it banned in the old Soviet days?
Was there a black market for Star Trek stuff?

Any & all input welcome. 🙂
