I happened to check Denise Crosby’s imdb listing. Ok, I remember reading something about that before. Look it over carefully. "Trivia: John Winston, who played Lt. Kyle in the original “Star Trek” (1966) series as well as Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) movie, appeared in this **fan production** as Captain Jefferies (for which the Jefferies Tubes throughout all of the Star Trek ships were named). ---

I know for sure that George Takei reprised Sulu. I actually applaud Paramount’s allowing this. Why should they care about a universe they have abandoned? ---

[Multiple Trek names have been involved](http://stexpanded.wikia.com/wiki/Fan_productions), not just actors but writers and creators. James Cawley, who plays Kirk in, and created, the New Voyages even appeared in JJ Abrams’s Trek movie. ---

I don’t see the site being down – I just accessed it. IMO, it’s a great series, done very, very well. The sets, costumes, props are exacting, and while the acting may not be Academy worthy, it’s respectable (and respectful). I highly recommend watching all they’ve uploaded. My only complaint is there aren’t as many episodes as I’d like. But when it’s done on a volunteer basis, and no one involved is making a penny, I can live with it. Besides, as others have noted, some of the original actors and writers (DC Fontana, David Gerrold) have been involved. And there are other ST fan sites, but IMO they just don’t measure up, even though they may have dozens of episodes (specifically, they use limited props, and the backgrounds are all green screened in, which takes me out of the action).
