The finale felt _wrong_, somehow, like it was written in the editing room. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that they filmed two episodes, threw away three quarters of their footage, and then filmed a bunch of filler of people explaining stuff so that there would be a semblance of a story. ---

I’ll concede it wasn’t the best season. I really enjoyed some of the episodes though. The guy who played Pike, Anson Mount, is a really good actor. I’d say his acting is at another level relative to many other cast members. It was his acting that made the final episode more interesting because I could really feel his pain at having to let go of his girlfriend, even if it was for a kinda dumb reason. ---

If you like him, have you ever seen the show _Hell On Wheels_? That’s where I first saw him, and he was great there. It was sort of like _Deadwood_, but with a bit less realism and a lot more revenge plots. ETA: Oh, and it features Chief O’Brien as the Big Bad. Yeah, that’s exactly the feeling I got. Especially the callback to _The Inner Light_ (which felt incredibly cheap) seemed like something written for a different episode that just got shoehorned in. But what I want to know is, why was Gamble cosplaying as Purple Tentacle?
