I wonder why they don’t aim for 2016 and have them write all three episodes and film all of them at the same time…like Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit. It saves a ton of money and they know they are making three movies…so why not do it? ---

Essentially they are. The plan is to release them only two years apart, so effectively there’s no gap between ending one film’s production and beginning the next. For all the previous Star Wars films there was at least six months, even up to a year’s, gap. ---

I’m a Trekker from 'way back and I enjoyed the J.J. Abrams ST reboots, despite having a zillion or two nitpicks. I’ll see the new SW movies when they come out, I’m sure. Hope Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill will all make appearances in their original roles. If Jar Jar dies in some horribly painful way (“Ooo, meesa hurts very, very bad!”), so much the better. ---

Filming on 35mm is the least of the concerns for this monstrosity. It’s gonna be watered-down, Disney-fied garbage. ---

I predict the film will be about a Spunky Sith Princess & her Cute Animal Sidekick, who go on an adventure of discovery, personal growth, an terrorizing an unsuspecting Galaxy with her pinky, sparkly lightsaber. ---

The difficulties with a new Star Wars movie include: [ul] [li]Making it as good as the original trilogy. I would much rather work on the oft-proposed live-action TV series than carry the burden of a new trilogy of movies. ---

[I have no idea how accurate this is, but the rumors are that the original cast are now looking to be the “leads” with the younger cast only taking over after Episode VII.](http://collider.com/star-wars-episode-7-news-harrison-ford-michael-fassbender/) I agree with the original author that it would have been better to have new roles in the lead. ---

producers are also searching for a 20-something female actress who is either of mixed race or black to play either the daughter or granddaughter of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Wha? I hope this isn’t true, when the hell did Obi father her or her mother on Tattoine? ---

Any chance of the prequel chracters returning? Both Portman and Jackson are doing Disney movies and McGregor has said he would be intersted.
