Has anyone seen this fanmade film? It looks great. The acting is fair, but, hey, I sure as hell couldn’t do any of it.

It’s a big download (242 Mb) (56k, forget about it), but well worth the time. According to the makers, it’s free to download and give away.

I just downloaded it and took a quick look. You’re right in that the acting is only so-so, but they did a great job on the special effects. They must have had permission from Lucas Ltd. or something in order to make it. If you haven’t seen it, I also recommend [Duality](http://www.crewoftwo.com/movie/), as it’s pretty good as well.

Apparently, Lucas is okay with fanfilms as long as the makers don’t try to profit from them.

Atom Films has had a Star Wars fan film contest for several years now.

Not too bad. I liked the after-the-credits shot of the flying droid-thingy crashing in the background.

_[Pink Five](http://atomfilms.shockwave.com/af/content/pink5)_ always makes me laugh.

Wow, all those fan films were quite good. I liked the twist ending to duality.

I kinda liked revelations. The nice special effects really suprised me. You don’t expect it to be that good in a fan film.

That was kind of funny. Would have been better if “Stacey” had an actual X-Wing pilot helmet instead of the Top Gun aviator helmet. Apparently there’s a sequal:

Overall, I would say the quality of the quality of those fan films is about on par with what you might find in the cut-scenes of some Lucasfilms games. You can get some really great professional quality 3D programs pretty cheap these days (by film production standards) so I’m sure that helps.

I tried to watch Revelations, but the acting is so awful I just couldn’ finish. Good sets, though.

It was still better than Episode 3’s though.
